Happiness (HOW TO GET HAPPY)
It's not a very difficult word, but somehow it is easily one of the most complicated emotions that people strive for throughout their lives.
The answer to happiness is simple.
That's it...the answer is in fact : simple.
Think about the things that make you happy.
friends/family (good company), pleasure, love, exercise, hobbies, physical/mental health....
2 + 2 = 4
positivity + interactivity = happiness.
Forget money. It may buy you stuff. That's all it is..stuff, stuff does not make you happy.
Things do not make you happy... consider yourself broke from this point in the text.
You make you happy.
Your choices on how to spend your time are exactly how you shape your inward cycle.
If you sit around doing nothing and moping, well, the chances are you will probably feel like exactly what you are doing. Unless feeling like a slob is your idea of happiness...perhaps re think things?
Exercise is a given. The endorphins realsed whilst working out are a natural stimulant and get all your levels to the right place..plus, lets be completely honest - you feel better about yourself.
Wait, wait, wait - what about when things don't go your way? How on earth are you supposed to be happy then?
Just be grateful - in the long run, whatever happened - happened. It shapes you into the person you become as the days, months and years role a long. And perhaps, just maybe - those unfortunate events will lead you to a much greater path...if not that, then you will have at least learnt a lesson and you should be thankful for it.
Wise words once said.."don't worry...be happy!" Que positive humming.
Be good to other people. It's the biggest reward you will ever receive. Accept others kindness; it's a selfless, priceless gift. See Buddhist teachings.
Make time for people, it ups your energy and your brain waves. Spend hours talking, laughing, crying in the company of friends. Engaging your body and mind in activity brings both meaning to your existence and an internal sense of euphoria. You know the feeling.
Travel. It's easy to get stuck in a rut, taking a breather from the same old same old will charge your spirit; open your eyes and wack your happy levels to all kinds of bliss. A change of scenery also keeps you stimulated.
I know what you're thinking "Easy for her to say, she makes it all sound so easy."
Yes, it is easy for me to say..writing this has been an absolute breeze. It's not necessarily easy to do because most people spend their whole lives trying to figure out what it is that makes them happy. Instinctively, humans look to the past for reference: "something bad that happened to them" prior to thinking about all the good that they have had in their lives. Next time you feel like looking into the past, think about something wonderful that happened - I guarantee you it happened...now, be grateful for it!
Don't dwell on decisions, be impulsive (Oh! How irresponsible!) The longer you wait with things, the less pleasure they will bring you. Do not let decisions be a chore. Rock, paper, scissors and go!
Idleness is the demon. Having too much time on your hands with nothing to fill will leave you feeling empty.
Have goals. Strive to be something, the best you can be - to achieve - in whatever sense of the word. Keep learning, keep developing, keep getting better.
Having nothing to look forward to will leave you numb and unsatisfied.
I don't have any research to back this up, just my instincts (these can sometimes be flawed);
there is no right and wrong here. But let's be logical..this is all quite straight forward, quite simple and well, the thought of it - it makes me pretty happy.
